Manly County Courthouse 

From holding trials to performing civil marriage ceremonies, the Courthouse is the seat of justice for the county. Until recently, a statue of Hawboro’s founder, Zebulon Spencer Blessing, was situated in front of the Courthouse.

Blessing Mills 

For many decades Blessing Mills brought jobs and prosperity to Hawboro. In 2004 Blessing Mills was sold.

 

Blessing Tower 

Designed by famed North Carolina architect Edward Loewenstein, Blessing Tower was constructed in 1967. Dedicated in memory of the late Edward Blesssing II, it housed the corporate offices of Blessing Mills.

Yellowwood 

In 1969, Blessing Mills opened Yellowwood, offering hundreds more jobs and planned housing for its workers. While the Yellowwood mills are now closed, the neighborhood offers affordable housing options for Hawboro’s working families.

 

Asterdale 

This stately Victorian has been the home of the Blessing family for many generations. Featured on the Manly County Register of Historic Homes.
